During his police interview, Ezra tells police that Dante was obsessed with Summer and used to call her "Kitten." Ezra pretends not to remember Dante's name, but slips up and accidentally says it before the police officer does.
The note in the blue envelope (that Dante and Luka got Jessica to leave in Summer's office) is addressed to "Kitten". The note is from Dante. We know this because the person who wrote the note was stalking Summer at her high school reunion (which Dante was). The note was written to intimidate Summer.
What Ezra told police is true — Dante did call Summer "Kitten" (and still does). "Kitten" was/is Dante's nickname for Summer. Ezra knew this. Ezra also knew Dante had harassed Summer. This made Dante the perfect person to frame for Summer's murder. So, Ezra purchased a necklace with an image of a kitten on it and left it on Summer after killing her.
