This suspect can be eliminated because they lacked the "means" to commit the crime. Read the "Forensic Analysis Report" carefully.

Do any of the suspects have any allergies?

The forensic analysis report tells us Summer's killer wore KGX gloves. What do we know about KGX gloves? Are they mentioned anywhere else?

Have a look at the "Mercy Hospital Staff Schedule", paying special attention to the back.

Luna is allergic to latex, but we know Summer's killer wore latex gloves. We can eliminate Luna.

The relevant pieces of evidence are: Mercy Hospital Discharge Summary (mentions Luna's latex allergy), the Forensic Analysis Report (tells us that Summer's killer wore KGX gloves), and the Mercy Hospital Staff Schedule (on the back, there's an ad sponsored by KGX gloves — the ad says that KGX only manufactures latex gloves).

Make sure you've read the witness statements and police interviews carefully.

Read the police notebook carefully. Is there any information in the police notebook that corroborates or contradicts any of the suspects' alibis?

The police notebook mentions pulling over "Cynthia Artell" for speeding. Who is Cynthia?

If you're not sure who Cynthia is, reread Summer's blog, the witness statements, and the Seattle Crime magazine.

On her blog, Summer mentions that Harrison's sister is married to a dentist named Malcolm. Harrison mentions his sister in his witness statement.

Can you figure out Harrison's sister's last name? You can't assume it's Lachance (she might have taken Malcom's last name). If you're not sure, have another look at the Seattle Crime magazine and pay special attention to the ads.

One of the ads is for a dental practice. The practice lists "Malcolm Artell" as one of the dentists. We can infer that Harrison's sister, Cynthia, is Cynthia Artell (because we know from Summer's blog that Harrison's sister, Cynthia, is married to a dentist named Malcolm who lives in Seattle).

Harrison's witness statement says he was at Cynthia's house, with Cynthia, from 9-11AM (on September 14th) and neither of them left. The police notebook says Cynthia Artell was pulled over at 10:16AM on September 14th. Harrison lied about his alibi.

In part 1, you unlocked the grey safe bag, which was Luna's. Inside it, there is a small note that's from Harrison and written to "Bumblebee". In the pink sparkly bag (also from Part 1), there's a prom ticket from Harrison that's also written to "Bumblee" .

Did Luna and Harrison end up going to prom together? If you're not sure, check the yearbook.

The pink sparkly bag has a spell in it. Read the spell and look at everything in the bag. Who is the spell being cast against?

Luna's plausible motive is to eliminate a romantic rival.

Luna and Harrison dated in high school. Luna is "Bumblebee". Luna and Harrison were going to go to prom together, but Summer and Harrison were crowned (in the yearbook awards) as "Most Likely To Get Married". Clearly, somethign went wrong for Harrison and Luna. And judging by the fact that Luna is trying to curse Summer (the pink bag is Luna's, in it there's a revenge spell - part of the spell calls for a picture of the person you're trying to curse/the person who wronged you. There's a picture of Summer in the bag.), it's safe to assume that Luna blames Summer for her and Harrison's breakup and still harbors feelings towards Harrison (seeing as she still carries around a bag with a valentine note from him).

The first step is to figure out who wrote the note. Compare the note's handwriting to other sources of handwriting.

The handwriting in the note matches the handwriting in Medina's witness statement. Medina wrote the note. 

On the front of the note there's a clue that references the day "we met". Can you figure out when Summer and Medina met?

Summer's blog mentions that they met at a karaoke event. There isn't a date mentioned, though (except for the year). Is there any other evidence that references the karaoke event?

Have a close look at the "Seattle Times".

There is an ad for O'Malley's Oktoberfest karaoke event (2019) on the back of the Seattle Times. Can you figure out when the event was held in 2018?

The ad says the event is held on the last Saturday of September. In 2018, the last Saturday in September was on the 29th.

The clue on the note says: "mm/dd-10/". Can you use this clue to translate the date Summer and Medina met into two numbers?

Summer and Medina met on 09/29/18. Using the clue, this becomes: 09/19. The two numbers are 9 and 19.

Read the "Puzzles" section of the yearbook.

This is a skip cipher. Read the 9th word in the note, then the 19th word (after the 9th word), then the 9th word after the 19th word etc.

Decoded, the note says: "I can't wait to travel the world with you one day."

The 911 caller told police that they heard a woman scream which is what prompted them to run into a building where they found Summer. Police talked to some other witnesses who were nearby when the 911 caller said she heard a woman scream. Did they hear anything?

They didn't. If you look in the Officer notebook ('Officer Notes'), you'll see that an officer talked to two different witnesses who both said they didn't hear anything. One of the witnesses, Colton Sanderson, makes an interesting comment about the rain in his interview. Contrast his comment about the rain with the officers observations of Summer's office when he enters it at 10:50 AM (Was it dry? Wet?).

The officer says in his notebook that Summer's office was dry when he entered (and the windows were open). It starts raining, and the officer observes the floor (in Summers's office) immediately get wet.

Colton (a witness the police officer talked to) said it was rainy extremely hard up until 10:25AM. If the windows were open at 10:25AM, the floor in Summers's office likely would've been wet when the officer arrived (note: the witness said it was raining extremely hard, so it's unlikely that the floor would've dried already, although it is possible, depending on the humidity, ventilation, flooring material etc.). Is there any other way we can confirm whether or not the windows were closed at 10:25AM?

There is a security camera photo that was taken across the street from Summer's office. We can confirm it's a photo of Summers's office by looking at the drawing of Summer's office in the officer notebook. The windows in the office are closed and the photo is time stamped 10:26:01.

Who was in Summer's office at 10:26 AM?

The witness says it was raining heavily until 10:25AM and then it stopped. Summer's office was dry when the officer arrived, though, despite the windows being open. This suggests the windows were opened sometime after 10:25AM. Who was in Summer's office after 10:25AM?

Read the 911 call record. If you're not sure who the 911 caller is, see if their number matches up with any of the numbers listed on the witness statements.

The 911 caller was Medina. The call records show the 911 caller made the call (to 911) between 10:25 to 10:28AM. The loose officer note (the one that begins with "Spoke to 911 caller") says that Medina made the call while she was beside Summers's body. Medina says the windows were closed when she entered Summer's office, but seeing as she must have made the call after she entered Summers's office (and there's no reason to think she left Summer's office during the call), she must be lying. The windows must have been closed when she entered Summers's office and she opened them sometime between 10:26 AM (when we know they were still closed) and when officers were arrived (when we know they were open). It makes sense that Medina lied about the windows being open, because she's the only one who claims to have heard Summer's screams. If the windows had been open (and Summer was screaming), someone else likely would've heard.

Full Explanation

The security camera photo is time stamped for 10:26AM. It shows that window to Summer's office is closed. We know this photo depicts Summer's office because we can cross reference it with the picture in the officer's notebook (where the officer circles Summer's office window). We can also note that the security camera is located at 315 Yonge Street - Still Rock Psychiatry (where Summer's office is) is located at 314 Yonge Street. We can infer that the security camera is capturing the building across the street, which would be Summer's office.

The 911 caller is Medina. Medina says the window to Summer's office was open when she arrived. This doesn't add up because Medina must have made the 911 call after she entered Summer's office. She made the call at 10:25AM (which we know because of the cell phone call records) but the security camera photo shows us the windows were closed at 10:26AM - which is after Medina would have entered Summer's office. Medina is lying. This is further corroborated by the witness statements noted in the officer notebook. Both witnesses say they didn't hear screams - only Medina claims she heard anything.

Additionally, the floor was dry when officers arrived at Summer's office. But if the windows to Summer's office were open before Medina arrived, as Medina claims (so the windows were open prior to 10:25AM, which is the earliest Medina could have arrived), we would expect Summer's office to be wet. One of the witnesses (noted in the officer notebook) says it was raining heavily until 10:25AM (and we know that if it's raining and the windows are open, Summer's office gets wet, as noted by the officer who was in Summer's office when it started raining at 10:50AM and observed the floor get wet).

The answer is Medina, and the relevant pieces of evidence are: the security camera photo or the officer notebook.
