Read the "Seattle Times" article about Summer's murder carefully, paying careful attention to what Summer's parents say about Summer.

Summer's parents say she loved puzzles and "pulling things apart and putting them back together". Do you remember the item that Summer's parents gave you (it was something that used to belong to Summer)? If you don't remember, re-read the introduction letter in the "Part 1" envelope — i.e. the letter written to you, the Investigator, and signed by Stephen Corbin).

Summer's parents gave you Summer's keychain. It's a keychain with a puzzle toy, a rubber "fidget" toy, and a (fake) gummy bear. Summer's parents are adamant that she loved puzzles. Try taking the puzzle on the keychain apart (it can be done - if you're struggling, focus on removing the bright pink/purple piece first by pushing downwards on it - i.e. push in the direction away from the top of the keychain)

The puzzle on Summer's keychain can be disassembled into pieces. In the pink/purple piece, Summer hid a note. The note says "Best friend + their birth year". This is a clue for Summer's password.

Who could Summer's best friend be? Reread the "Seattle Times" magazine article about Summer. What does Summer's mother say about Summer (aside from Summer's love of puzzles)?

Summer's mom mentions that Summer was a "fixer" who would take on projects like adopting rescue dogs or solving rubix cubes.

Could Summer's best friend be a dog? Are there any mentions or pictures of dogs in the evidence?

Look carefully at the physical items that were found in Summer's office (the "Evidence Inventory" list says where each item was found)

A magnet with a picture of a dog and the word "Paisley" was found in Summer's office. The magnet says Paisley. We can assume the dog's name is Paisley. Do you see any other references to "Paisley?"

Look carefully at the pen that was found in Summer's office.

The pen says "Paisley 2003-2013". Summer's "clue" is her best friend's name and birthday. Summer's best friend was Paisley and their birth year was 2003. The password is Paisley2003 (make sure to capitalize "Paisley").

Do you know who the bag belongs to? There is a specific piece of evidence that references the bag.

Read the blog entry titled "disaster at the office". Do you see any reference to the bag?

In the blog entry titled "disaster at the office", Summer mentions overhearing Luna say that something is in a safe. The bag looks like a safe. The bag belongs to Luna.

The password to open the bag is three numbers. Can you find any evidence relating to Luna that includes numbers?

Can you find a way to connect the affirmations to something else on Luna's computer?

Have a look at the "Erikson's Stages of Psychosocial Development" chart on Luna's computer.

Luna's affirmations have three bolded words. These three words are important.

Each bolded word is listed in one of the psychological crises (on the Erikson chart).

Each psychological crisis corresponds to an age range. Can you translate the three bolded words (from Luna's affirmations) into three ages?

Each psychological crises has two numbers (i.e. the younger age in the age-range and the older age). Each psychological crises has two words (for example, integrity vs. despair).

Match the words that are listed first (e.g. in generativity vs. stagnation, generativity is listed first) to the younger age in the age-range (e.g. generativity would be matched to 40) and the words that are listed second to the older age.

The three bolded words are: trust, initiative, guilt. Trust corresponds to the first psychological crisis (age 0-1) and can be matched to age 0. Initiative corresponds to the third crisis (age 3-6) and can be matched to age 3. Guilt also corresponds to the third crisis (age 3-6) and can be matched to age 6. The password to open the bag is 036.

To figure out who the pink sparkly bag belongs to, read the spell inside the bag ("Siren's Revenge") and pay special attention to the "Ingredients" section.

One of the ingredients for the spell is the birthstone of the person doing the spell. There is a stone/rock in the bag.

There's a piece of evidence that depicts the birthstones of different astrological signs. Find this piece of evidence. If you don't know the birth dates that different astrological signs correspond to, you can check here.

The stone/rock in the bag is purple. This is closest to an Aquarius' birthstone (amethyst).

The only character who's a known Aquarius (born between January 20 and February 18) is Luna. 

Luna's witness statement lists her birthday (February 10th, 1986). On the "Computer Desktop Screenshot" there's a circular diagram that displays the birthstone for each astrological sign. The Aquarius astrological sign (looks like two lines of water) is beside a purple stone (an amethyst). We know the person who owns the pink bag is an Aquarius, because Siren's Revenge (the spell in the bag) calls for the birthstone of the person casting the spell. Of all the birthstones displayed on the "Computer Desktop Screenshot", the purple stone/rock in the bag looks closest to an amethyst — the Aquarius' birthstone.

The answer is Luna. The two pieces of evidence are: Luna's witness statement and the Computer Desktop Screenshot.

Have a careful look at Summer's ID card.

There is a website listed on Summer's ID card: www.stillrockpsychiatry.com. Go to the website and scroll through the front page. There is a blurb about Summer that mentions where she went ot medical school.

The first step is to figure out who wrote the note. Compare the note's handwriting to other sources of handwriting.

The handwriting in the note matches the handwriting in Medina's witness statement. Medina wrote the note. 

On the front of the note there's a clue that references the day "we met". Can you figure out when Summer and Medina met?

Summer's blog mentions that they met at a karaoke event. There isn't a date mentioned, though (except for the year). Is there any other evidence that references the karaoke event?

Have a close look at the "Seattle Times".

There is an ad for O'Malley's Oktoberfest karaoke event (2019) on the back of the Seattle Times. Can you figure out when the event was held in 2018?

The ad says the event is held on the last Saturday of September. In 2018, the last Saturday in September was on the 29th.

The clue on the note says: "mm/dd-10/". Can you use this clue to translate the date Summer and Medina met into two numbers?

Summer and Medina met on 09/29/18. Using the clue, this becomes: 09/19. The two numbers are 9 and 19.

Read the "Puzzles" section of the yearbook.

This is a skip cipher. Read the 9th word in the note, then the 19th word (after the 9th word), then the 9th word after the 19th word etc.

Decoded, the note says: "I can't wait to travel the world with you one day."
